It's been a minute.
*insert shoulder shrug*
My life has just been really exciting lately and I wanted to share some really awesome stuff I'm involved in. Here it goes.
Lacrosse
I am coaching for our local Lacrosse Club and it is literally a dream come true for me. My team is a team of underdogs who are dedicated to learning and growing and I love learning and growing as a coach with them. They are the most resilient and positive girls ever and I love them!
It's not just the coaching I love, I'm actually on the board as the Girls Coaching Coordinator and that makes me feel pretty fancy to say "I'm the board." The club is also involved in so many awesome community outreach opportunities it's so fun. I've been able to go to several schools in the area to teach Lacrosse in PE classes and even teach how to teach Lacrosse to PE Teachers. It's like the perfect marriage of my interests and previous experience.
Just today we got the invitation to go on post to Fort Campbell to host Wheel Chair Lacrosse for the Warrior Transition Battalion. Lacrosse has been referred to as "The Medicine Game" and was created as a game played to heal. So to bring this game to soldiers who need healing the most is beyond humbling. My heart bursts to think about being able to be a part of this. And I can't wait to get into a wheel chair and play with them!
Finding Clarksville Lacrosse Club has been one of the biggest players in making me feel so at home in Clarksville. I can't even think about leaving in a year- it makes my eyes sweat.

I recently, somewhat serendipitously, ran into an old company I used to work for in 2015. They happened to be looking for someone to join their team to help out with the big fundraisers they throw for schools. So I've gotten to jump in to Color Battles, Pep Rallies, and Fun Runs and it's really fun to be back in the schools.

I've been coaching soccer for 2-4 year olds for a whole year now! It is crazy fun and I love that I have some kids who have been with me from the start. It's so rewarding to see how much they've grown. Coach is a title I hold in several different senses but hearing a 3 year old call me Coach touches my heart in such a unique way. I love working for a company with such great motives- to provide a constant for military kids.

This little business of mine has been difficult and feels like a young, tender, but growing, plant. I have big dreams on where I want this to go and I'm learning to not get ahead of myself and focus on one step at a time. It's definitely taught me a lot about myself and I feel humbled at the lives I've been able to touch along the way.
Young Women's
I'm still President of my church's girl's youth program, Young Women's. I've gotten to help out with summer camp and work closely with lots of teenage girls and I love them. Maybe because I still can pass as one, but mostly because they are simply amazing. I truly believe that each generation gets stronger and more faithful and this generation is no exception. I think their generation can get a lot of gruff for being entitled or lazy but from my experience with them they are kind, service minded, and strong with all the capability in the world to be amazing leaders.
I see the girl's in my ward as little sisters I love with my whole heart and they are another group I will have a really difficult time leaving when the Army makes us move.

I think when we decided to join the Army I initially thought it was mostly for Josh, and I would be supporting him. But I've come to learn it was absolutely about me too, maybe even more so. I've had so many opportunities come my way I could have never anticipated or even dreamed. I'm so grateful God works that way- putting things in our path we didn't even know we needed. The other day I was driving and passed the Tennessee state sign and had a moment of disbelief that my life has really led to me living in Tennessee. My life is nothing like I ever could have anticipated and if you asked me even a year ago where I would be, I probably would have described a completely different life.
But lately, I've felt so secure and at peace that this is the life God intended me to live. And that's a pretty dang good feeling.
